COVID-19 has changed all our lives

Being able to work from home with your cat on your lap or your dog in their bed next to you is a real privilege. For many the stress of less or no income has been lessened by the time they have been able to spend with family including their four-footed family.
It has also made us more aware of what we spend our hard-earned money on. What matters and what does not? For most of us looking after our family and our home have come out on top of important things list. And pets are family!
One or two less social obligations will allow time to groom your own pet, online videos will teach you how to clip nails or express anal glands. More time might allow you to walk to the family dog as a family and with gyms being closed it is great exercise.
During lock-down and in the following months we have seen many pets for chronic conditions that owners have just noticed or realised were important due to being able to slow down and step back from their usually busy lives, great news for pets.
There has definitely been an upsurge in insured pets which is fantastic news for pets, owners and us! If you are considering pet insurance do your homework. We recommend one that does not have sub-limits for procedures or medication. To be sure of covering most things you would need a minimum of R30,000 per claim. Make sure you know the waiting period, all have at least a month for illness and might even have up to six months for some things. Our reception staff will be happy to advise you.
Many people have sadly dropped their pets off at rescue organisations as they can no longer afford to feed them. The other side of this is people who have manged to restructure their lives with more at home time who have been able to take on a new rescue pet and give them a second chance.
To all our clients Keep Safe and warm, we hope to see you soon.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern”][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”200px”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
